The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Disruptive Technology Program Office is responsible for identifying and exploring innovative and/or groundbreaking solutions to the Science and Technology capability gaps within the Missile Defense community, from initial identification through successful experimentation and demonstrations. Consequently, we are seeking innovative solutions from commercial and defense industries, to develop new designs, adapt existing technologies in other fields, or re-design existing capabilities to fulfill our needs.

Generally, a Disruptive Technology “need” includes any advancements or revolutionary uses of existing technologies in the areas of global communications, command and control, threat/target interception (components or systems), sensors, optics and IR, and threat tracking capability. Functionally these capabilities may include improved uses for modeling and simulations, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and systems engineering.

A disruptive technology could be an existing or a demonstrated capability already under development for commercial or military industrial use that could be adapted to provide a solution to MDA’s capability gaps. This RFI request for white papers is not limited to defense contractors. Non-traditional contractors are encouraged to reply.

Interested parties are requested to respond to this RFI with a white paper. MDA will only accept electronic White papers, in Microsoft Word for Office 2000 compatible format and are due no later than June 30, 2020.
