Everything you wanted to know about security clearances but were afraid to ask
In the recently-released
“Federal Suitability and Security Clearances:
Issue Mitigation Handbook”William Henderson, a subject matter expert on all things security clearance,
has put together a ready-reference of useful information for industrial security officers and would-be holders of all levels
of Government-granted security clearances.
The well-researched, 198-page book serves to condense and translate (from the bureaucratese) a great deal of openly-available,
if hard-to-find information on the security clearance process and procedures.
More importantly however, Mr. Henderson lays out the nitty gritty
on the questions that clearance-aspirants won’t find via a Google search and, for reasons personal and professional,
may not want to ask their resident Facility Security Officer or their work colleagues.
Mr. Henderson gives the reader the bottom line on how, in the 21st
Century, the Government weighs and regards the personal information that it gets from clearance applicants in such areas as
drug use, financial stability, and sexual history.
