SASC gives nod to McHugh, othersThe Senate Armed Services Committee today approved by voice vote the nomination of Republican Congressman
John McHugh of New York to be Army secretary. As expected, the
SASC also approved the nominations of J. Michael
Gilmore to be DoD Director of Operational Test and Evaluation, of Joe
Westphal to be Undersecretary of the Army
and Juan Garcia to be Navy Assistant Secretary for manpower and Reserve
affairs. A full Senate vote is expected prior
to Senate adjournment on 7 August.
